See How the Joker Became Evil in Disturbing New Trailer - Loudwire

Warner Bros. Pictures just released a disturbing teaser trailer for the new upcoming movie Joker. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, the trailer reveals a little bit about how a man eventually morphed into a killer.

There are a lot of movies that tell the story of the Arkham City characters from 1966's The Batman Series to 2016's Suicide Squad. This film in particular focuses on the life of the joker and how he turned into a murderous, psychotic clown. Themes of bullying, mental illness and violence are all present in the disturbing two-minute video. Watch the trailer below.

There's a long line of actors who have portrayed the character in live-action films, starting with Cesar Romero in 1966's Batman: The Movie, followed by Jack Nicholson's 1989 performance in Batman. The late Heath Ledger actually went as far as isolating himself in a hotel room for weeks in order to adapt to the character's personality for 2008's The Dark Knight, which many regard as his all-time best acting performance.

30 Seconds to Mars' Jared Leto played the villain in 2016's Suicide Squad, though there was some controversy surrounding how much of the clown's screen time was left out of the final movie.

Needless to say, Joaquin Phoenix has some pretty big shoes to fill. Joker comes out Oct. 4.

Captain Marvel is the latest Marvel movie to cross the billion-dollar mark - The Verge

Marvel’s latest superhero flick, Captain Marvel, just crossed a big milestone: it’s earned more than $1 billion at the global box office, according to Variety. The film is the seventh in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to hit that mark, joining the likes of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

After being teased in last year’s Infinity War, fans were eagerly anticipating the film and its titular character to arrive in a standalone spot, given Captain Marvel’s expected role in the forthcoming Avengers: Endgame. The milestone comes as the buildup to Endgame has begun. Marvel released a new teaser yesterday in conjunction with advance tickets going on sale, which broke the record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The question isn’t will Endgame hit the billion-dollar mark, but how fast?

That box office haul comes at the end of a decade-long buildup of Marvel’s film franchise, and it should bode well for the next phase, which begins this summer with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July. But Marvel hasn’t revealed what the franchise will look like post-Endgame: Far From Home is the only film that’s been officially revealed, although studio head Kevin Feige has said that the next generation of films will be “completely different.” Presumably, Marvel hopes the box office numbers won’t change any time soon.

Lori Loughlin & Felicity Huffman Back in Court for College Scandal - TMZ

11:03 AM PT -- Lori Loughlin just showed up to the Boston courthouse, and was quick to get inside. She avoided answering any questions from reporters, but it appears there were also some fans there to greet her. You can hear some cheering as Lori gives a wave on her way in.

Felicity Huffman has just arrived to face a judge for her involvement in the massive college bribery scandal.

The "Desperate Housewives" actress appeared in a federal courthouse in Boston Wednesday where she -- along with other parents including Lori Loughlin -- will reportedly know more about the conditions of their release.

As we first reported ... Lori and Felicity could cut plea bargains but prosecutors wanna see the parents do time behind bars. As one official told us, "You can't have people being treated differently because they have money. That's how we got to this place. Every defendant will be treated the same."

Lori and Felicity each face a maximum of 5 years in prison if convicted of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

As we reported ... Felicity and Lori -- recorded on wiretapped calls discussing the scheme with ringleader William Rick Singer -- are accused of paying bribes to help get their kids into elite schools.

Felicity and her husband, William H. Macy, allegedly paid $15k to participate in a college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of their eldest daughter, Sofia Grace, who was given twice the amount of time to take the SAT as other students. The feds say the proctor corrected her answers. She scored 1420 on her SAT ... an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT.

Lori and her hubby, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying a whopping $500k to have their 2 daughters -- Isabella and Olivia -- designated as recruits for the crew team at USC ... even though they were never actually on any crew team. Mossimo allegedly sent Singer pics of the girls on rowing machines to make it look like they were indeed athletes.

On the morning the indictment was announced, 7 FBI agents showed up to Felicity's home with guns drawn and arrested her. The feds also showed up to Lori's home but she was in Vancouver. Mossimo was nabbed and later released. Lori surrendered the next day.

47 others were also caught up in the massive college bribery scandal the feds dubbed Operation Varsity Blues. The parents are accused of paying off Rick Singer ... the alleged ringleader who created a fake nonprofit, charitable foundation that served as a front to launder the payments.

The feds also said Singer -- who pled guilty to racketeering charges -- allegedly instructed the parents they could write off the alleged bribes as tax-deductible"donations" ... to his nonprofit.

According to court records, the actresses and others allegedly paid as much as $6.5M to get their kids into various schools ... including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and USC. In all, the feds uncovered about $25M in bribes.

Lori -- out on $1 million bond -- was mum when paps got her out the other day leaving a yoga session. The fallout from the scandal was immediate. Loughlin's girls withdrew from USC and Loughlin lost gigs with "Fuller House" and Hallmark.

Everything coming to Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Now in April 2019 - The Verge

April showers bring Game of Thrones back for its final season on the 14th on HBO and HBO Now. We’re anticipating large CGI dragons, final face-offs between rivals for the throne, more political intrigue and outmaneuvering, and likely, all-out war. At the very least, we get to see how the entire saga comes to an end.

If you’re someone who has never really caught up on Game of Thrones episodes and have no desire to, there are plenty of other shows and films to catch this month. Hulu has a slew of programs hitting screens, like History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, a show that’s been heavily criticized by experts for promoting pseudoscience but is somehow now in its 13th season, and One-Punch Man, a hilarious anime series about a man who can defeat anything with a single punch, making its season 2 return.

Meanwhile, The Tick is making its season 2 premiere on Amazon Prime, bringing another ten episodes of superhero wackiness to the screen just in time for a month where both Shazam! and Avengers: Endgame hit theaters. April is otherwise a relatively quiet month for Amazon, where we’re getting plenty of old films like Top Gun and The Addams Family.

And both Hulu and Amazon Prime are getting award-winning horror film A Quiet Place on April 2nd. HBO, however, doesn’t just have a strong showing thanks to Game of Thrones. It’s also sandwiching its original content with some diverse blockbusters from last year: Crazy Rich Asians arrives on HBO on April 13th, while BlacKkKlansman appears on April 20th.

Anyway, if you’re one of the millions who plan to tune into Game of Thrones on its Sunday evening season premiere, this is all to say there will be plenty of shows and films to pad your weekdays in between new episode releases.

Former 'Full House' co-star Candace Cameron Bure supports Lori Loughlin - CNN

During a "Today" appearance Tuesday, Cameron Bure was asked about her "Full House" and "Fuller House" co-star's woes.
"You know, it's too personal to us and we would never want to talk about someone that's such a dear and close friend," she said. "I've already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we'll always be there for each other."
Actresses Candace Cameron Bure, left, and Lori Loughlin on July 29, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California.
Loughlin and fellow actress Felicity Huffman are among 13 people expected to appear Wednesday in federal court in Boston as part of an alleged college admissions scam.
The defendants are each charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud in a scheme that prosecutors have called "Operation Varsity Blues." Authorities say the parents paid a college prep business to cheat on standardized tests and/or bribe college coaches to help get their children into competitive universities.
Loughlin's husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is also among those charged.
The "Full House" cast in 1993.
Cameron Bure, who has known Loughlin since she was a child star and they both appeared on the hit sitcom "Full House" first appeared to break her silence about Loughlin during an acceptance speech last month at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
"A loving family sticks together no matter what," Cameron Bure said as she and co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber accepted "Fuller House's" award for favorite funny TV show. "They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets."
For her part, Loughlin has maintained her silence.
The actress was caught on video by the paparazzi this past weekend in Los Angeles and said she was sorry, but she couldn't talk about her legal issues.
"You can follow me around all day if you want, but I just can't comment right now," Loughlin said in a video posted on TMZ. "But thank you for your time."
CNN has reached out to representatives for Huffman, Loughlin and Giannulli but has not heard back.

Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend Lauren London says she’s ‘completely lost’ in emotional tribute - Fox News

Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend Lauren London and the rapper's sister Samantha Smith broke their silence days after the 33-year-old artist was shot and killed in Los Angeles.

London shared several photos of her and the rapper along with their 2-year-old son Kross and other family members on her Instagram on Tuesday. This is the first time the 34-year-old actress shared of photo of the couple’s son.

“I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul....,” London wrote in an emotional tribute. “I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.”

Hussle, whose real name is Emias Asghadom, and London dated for five years and both have children from previous relationships. London is the mother to son Cameron Carter with rapper Lil Wayne. Hussle also has a daughter Emani Asghedom.

The couple’s romance began in 2013 when London, who is best known for her role in the 2006 movie “ATL,” reached out to buy Hussle’s new mixtape, which was priced $100 a copy at the time. The couple told GQ last month that they started following each other on Instagram and began direct messaging each other.

NIPSEY HUSSLE, GRAMMY-NOMINATED RAPPER, SHOT DEAD IN LOS ANGELES

Hussle's sister, Samantha Smith, also paid tribute to the rapper in a lengthy Instagram post early Wednesday.

“You are my heart. You are my strength my wisdom my joy my balance. You are my Superhero. Invincible to me," she wrote. “I feel so safe with you. I feel so covered and protected."

"Imperfections do not exist with you because you are flawless. I need you I need you please let me hold you again. You are my baby. To the world you are the strongest man and to me you are the most vulnerable innocent child," she added. “Your heart is pure they don’t know you like we know you. Your love is expansive. Talk to me again. You’ve taught me so much. You hold me down through everything.”

She concluded the post by saying, "I love you forever and I will cry forever. You are my lifeline as long as I am here you are too."

SUSPECT IN NIPSEY HUSSLE SHOOTING DEATH ARRESTED, POLICE SAY

London and Smith's tributes to the late rapper came the same day Los Angeles police announced they arrested Eric Holder, the 29-year-old alleged gunman who fatally shot Hussle.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was outside of his retail store in a South Los Angeles strip mall when Holder allegedly opened fire, killing Hussle and wounding two others. Police said Hussle and Holder, a gang member, knew each other and had some kind of personal dispute hours before the killing. It’s unclear how they knew each other, but police said the shooting was not gang-related.

Holder is expected to be charged with Hussle’s murder and to appear in court later this week.

'Joker' trailer revealed: First look at Joaquin Phoenix as iconic DC villain - New York Post

“Joker” director Todd Philips has finally sent in the clown.

He took the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week to introduce the first teaser trailer for his upcoming comic book origin story starring Joaquin Phoenix as DC Comics’ iconic villain.

“There’s been a lot of chatter about what this film is and what it isn’t, and most of it hasn’t been very accurate,” Phillips says of the flick, set to premiere Oct. 4. “But it’s expected when you set out to make an origin story about a beloved character who basically has no definitive origin.”

And that might be because Philips himself has had trouble wrapping his head around the flick. Addressing the film’s air of mystery, he recalls even failing to deliver a clear description to his bosses at Warner Bros.

“It’s a tragedy,” he adds.

As Nat King Cole’s “Smile” plays in the background, the audience is introduced to the events that led a once-mild-mannered Arthur into the deranged Joker we know.

“My mother always tells me to smile and put on a happy face — she told me I had a purpose to bring laughter and joy to the world,” says Arthur in a voiceover.

The teaser portrays ominous and abject snippets of Phoenix as Arthur Fleck: stumbling clown-clad through the streets of Gotham City, being hit by a car, beaten by Subway bullies, dancing with his mother (Frances Conroy), eating dinner with Sophie Dumond (Zazie Beetz), talking with an unknown character (Brian Tyree Henry) — and, finally, dying his hair “Joker” green.

And, of course, the sneak peek would not be complete without a hysterically laughing Joker.

“I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize it’s a comedy.”

As with every Joker movie that’s come before, secrecy and gossip will persist, but fans on Twitter are no less enticed.
