Oscar nominee mourns death of model wife, 37: 'The saddest and toughest time of our lives' - AOL

Demian Bichir, who received a Best Actor nomination for 2011’s A Better Life, shared the news Wednesday that his wife, Canadian model and actress Stefanie Sherk, has died.

Bichir, 55, wrote that it was with “inconceivable pain” that he made the announcement that his “beloved and loving wife passed away peacefully” on Saturday. In his Instagram post, he called 37-year-old Sherk, whom he married in 2011, a “beautiful, angelical and talented presence” that will be “immensely missed.”

He did not specify the cause of death, but asked for “peace and privacy in these incredibly difficult times.” He called it the “saddest and toughest time of our lives.”

The actor’s friends posted messages of support, including actress Diane Kruger, who wrote, “Oh Demian, I’m so sorry I had no idea. I’m sending you so much love in this difficult time.”

Bichir’s first wife, Mexican actress and singer Lisset, also commented. Loosely translated it said that she was sending him love from afar: “I love you with my soul. I'm so sorry.”

Bichir, who was in the hit Showtime series Weeds alongside Mary-Louise Parker, and Sherk started dating in 2010. A Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, native, she appeared in his 2016 directorial debut Un cuento de circo & a Love Song as well as the films Star Power, Valentine's Day and Loco Love. She also appeared in various TV shows including CSI: Cyber, #Hashtag: The Series and Telenovela.

The pair didn’t share any children, but he has a daughter, Gala, who was born in 2011.

Does "Avengers: Endgame" have an intermission? When to take a bathroom break during Marvel's "Avengers: Endgame" (hint: go pee before the 2-hour mark) - CBS News

WARNING: Mild spoilers ahead.

Everyone is worried about which of their favorite Marvel characters are going to die in "Avengers: Endgame," but there may be another urgent issue: When to go to the bathroom. At 3 hours and 58 seconds, "Endgame" is the longest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's history. And chances are, you won't make it through without needing to run to the bathroom.

"Endgame" is wrapping up the last 11 years of Marvel history over 22 MCU movies, which Marvel is now referring to as The Infinity Saga. In order to not miss any key plot points, there are strategic moments throughout the film that are perfect for a super quick bathroom break.

But there's one rule you absolutely cannot break — if you are already past the two-hour mark, do not leave. It's too late. Before the two-hour mark, however, you have a few options.

When the San Francisco title card comes on screen

This scene comes about 30 minutes into the film, and it focuses on Ant-Man. It's mostly just Scott piecing together plot points that the audience is already familiar with, so you won't miss much if you leave now.

When Hulk is having lunch

At just over an hour into the film, a few of the characters eat lunch during a somewhat cringe-inducing, yet funny, scene. The following 15 minutes are the best window during the entire movie to run to the bathroom.

When Tony and Pepper are talking

This is a character-building moment for Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, so it's not your best moment if you're a big fan of the couple. But it's not a super important scene for the movie as a whole, so it may be a good opportunity. It takes place a little over an hour into the movie.

When the New Jersey title card comes on screen

This is your last chance. After this scene, there are no — we repeat, no — good times to take a bathroom break. It's mostly filled with nostalgia, so it's an easy one to piece together if you miss a couple of minutes.

The intense final hour of the movie is critically important — so at that point, just hold it. And if you can just make it to the credits, you're good — "Endgame" doesn't have a post-credits scene.

Or you could just take Paul Rudd's advice, and use your popcorn bucket so you don't have to miss a moment.

"Avengers: Endgame" reviews

Here's What The "Avengers: Endgame" Cast Looked Like In Their First Marvel Movie Vs. Now - BuzzFeed

Where they are going into Endgame: At the end of Infinity War, Tony found himself left on the planet Titan after the majority of his comrades turned to dust around him. Endgame trailers revealed that Tony is now stranded in space with Nebula and seemingly no way home, but they also showed him back on Earth with Captain America and the rest of the surviving Avengers, so make of that what you will.

First appearance: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Where they are going into Endgame: Captain America really took the fight to Thanos in Wakanda, but it just wasn't enough, and he ended up watching as people around him, including Bucky, turned to dust. Judging from the Endgame trailers though, he's not willing to just sit around and accept defeat.

Marvel

First appearance: Thor (2011)

Where they are going into Endgame: Thor was the game changer in the Battle of Wakanda and he nearly stopped Thanos. Unfortunately, he didn't go for the head though, allowing Thanos to snap his fingers and wipe half of the universe out. Judging by Thor's broody looks in Endgame trailers, he's not happy about how that went down.

Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.

Marvel

First appearance: Iron Man 2 (2010)

Where they are going into Endgame: At the end of Infinity War, Natasha is left on Earth while people turn to dust around her. But, judging from Endgame clips, she's ready to try and ~avenge~ her friends.

Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Marvel

First appearance: The Avengers (2012)

Where they are going into Endgame: In Infinity War, Bruce and Hulk were having a tough time getting on, mostly because Hulk wouldn't play ball. This resulted in Bruce donning the Hulkbuster suit during the Battle of Wakanda. Will Hulk still be in hiding come Endgame?

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

First appearance: Captain Marvel (2019)

Where they are going into Endgame: Captain Marvel didn't make her first appearance until just a month before Endgame's release, but she already looks to be one of the most powerful Avengers in the mix. Going into Endgame, Captain Marvel will be looking to try and get Nick Fury back at any cost, and if that means taking the fight to Thanos, so be it.

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.

Marvel

First appearance: Ant-Man (2015)

Where they are going into Endgame: Ant-Man was notably absent from Infinity War, but he was actually running around San Francisco trying to defeat Ghost. In the post-credits scene to Ant-Man and the Wasp, we then found out that Scott actually got stuck inside the quantum realm after his friends tasked with getting him back out got dusted by Thanos's snap. However, Endgame trailers show Ant-Man knocking on the Avengers' front door, suggesting he managed to get back to the real world. But judging by those white suits, it looks like he might be heading back into the quantum realm sooner rather than later.

Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine.

Marvel

First appearance: Iron Man 2 (2010)

Where they are going into Endgame: James Rhodes is on Earth with most of the other surviving Avengers, trying to figure out a way to reverse Thanos's snap.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye.

Marvel

First appearance: Thor (2011)

Where they are going into Endgame: After the events of Civil War, Hawkeye found himself under house arrest. However, trailers appear to show him running about as his alter-ego, Ronin, so it doesn't look like he plans on staying at home while the Avengers try to defeat Thanos.

And what about everybody else?! Well, Nebula and Rocket are still alive and kicking, Nebula stranded in space with Tony, Rocket down on Earth after the Battle of Wakanda. But since they basically look exactly the same, they probably don't need a before and after.

Okoye, Pepper Potts, Valkyrie, Happy Hogan, and Wong have also escaped the dusting according to character posters revealed by Marvel. However, they've all been left out of Endgame trailers, so no before and afters of those characters just yet.

As for the rest of your faves? Well, they weren't so fortunate in Infinity War and are currently piles of dust. It's probably a little disrespectful to do before and afters like this...

James Bond 25: Rami Malek joins cast and Phoebe Waller-Bridge to co-write - BBC News

Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek is to play a villain in the 25th official James Bond film, it was confirmed at the movie's launch event in Jamaica.

Malek won the Academy Award for best actor in February for playing singer Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is among the new film's writers. But the title of the movie, which will be released next April, wasn't revealed.

It will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing as 007.

Malek wasn't at the official launch but sent a video message. "I'm stuck here in New York in production but I'm very much looking forward to joining the whole cast and crew," he said.

"I will be making sure Mr Bond does not have an easy ride in this, his 25th outing. See you all soon."

After watching that, Craig joked that he was "scared" about what lay in store for Ian Fleming's suave secret agent.

It was also confirmed that Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw will return as M and Q respectively, with Naomie Harris coming back as Moneypenny. Lea Seydoux is reprising her Madeleine Swann character from 2015's Spectre.

'No title, unfortunately'

As well as Malek, new cast members will include Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch and Game Night actor Billy Magnussen.

They will be joined by fellow Bond newcomers Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah and David Dencik.

Asked about the plot, producer Barbara Broccoli said: "Bond is not on active service when we start the film. He is actually enjoying himself in Jamaica.

"He starts his journey here. We've built an extraordinary house for him... We've got quite a ride in store for Mr Bond - and no title, unfortunately."

Waller-Bridge, who was also behind the first series of Killing Eve, is just the second female writer in Bond history - after Johanna Harwood, who worked on Dr No and From Russia With Love.

The other co-writers on Bond 25 are seasoned Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade along with Scott Z Burns, whose credits include 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum.

Bruce Springsteen Announces New Album 'Western Stars' - NPR

The Boss is back with his first new studio album in five years. Western Stars is due out June 14 on Columbia Records and, according to a press release announcing the record, will be largely influenced by the Southern California pop sounds of the late '60s and early '70s.

"This record is a return to my solo recordings," Springsteen says in a statement, "featuring character-driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements. It's a jewel box of a record."

Springsteen reunited with producer Ron Aniello for Western Stars. The two previously worked together on Springsteen's last two studio albums, 2014's High Hopes and 2012's Wrecking Ball. The new album also features guest appearances by more than 20 other players, including multi-instrumentalist and composer Jon Brion, violinist and singer Soozie Tyrell and former E Street Band member David Sancious.

The announcement of Western Stars comes just ahead of its first single, "Hello Sunshine," which is set to hit streaming services just after midnight ET Thursday night (12 a.m. Friday).

Western Stars follows last year's Springsteen on Broadway, the soundtrack to his year-long concert residency at the Walter Kerr Theater in New York.

Fortnite 8.50 PATCH NOTES for Avengers Endgame update: Captain America, Iron Man and more - Express

Fortnite developer Epic Games has released patch notes for update 8.50.

With the game offline on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, Nintendo Switch and Android, Epic Games has launched Fortnite's latest update.

As you can see from the 8.50 patch notes below, the headline new feature is the Avengers Endgame event, which sees Thanos and his army invade the Battle Royale island in search of the six Infinity Stones.

"Endgame features a team of heroes fighting to stop Thanos and his Chitauri from claiming all six Infinity Stones," read the Epic post.

Heroes start with a treasure map leading to a Mythic Avengers item. The aim is to equip these items and destroy Thanos and his army.

Chitauri Invaders, on the other hand, start with a powerful laser rifle, an anti-structure grenade attack, and a jetpack that lets them briefly leap high into the air.

The first Chitauri to recover an Infinity stone will be transformed into Thanos. Finding additional stones increases Thanos' power.

The Thanos team wins by claiming all of the Infinity Stones and eliminating all enemies.

• The goal for the Hero team is to destroy the Chitauri army and defeat Thanos.

• Team Thanos is comprised of Chitauri Invaders and Thanos himself.

• Chitauri Invaders start with a powerful laser rifle, an anti-structure grenade attack, and a jetpack that lets them briefly leap high into the air.

• The first Chitauri to recover an Infinity stone will be transformed into Thanos.

• Thanos has a powerful punch, a destructive beam attack, and the ability to jump high into the air and then smash anything in his way when he comes back down.

• Each time an Infinity Stone is claimed, Thanos’ abilities grow more powerful and the Chitauri gain health.

• Reality Stone (Red) = Heath & Shields doubled (1000->2000)

• Soul Stone (Orange) = Siphon activated (grants Thanos shields only)

• Mind Stone (Yellow) = Jump height doubled

• Space Stone (Blue) = Ground Pound AOE size tripled, damage x6

• Time Stone (Green) = Big knockback added to each hit, damage x3

• Power Stone (Purple) = Laser damage x6

• If Thanos is eliminated from the match, another Chitauri will become him after a short wait (unless Thanos is the last one standing).

• If Thanos & the Chitauri find all six Infinity Stones, Heroes will no longer be able to respawn.

• The goal for Thanos and his army is to find the stones and then eliminate the remaining heroes.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

• The Hold to Swap functionality is now confirmed upon releasing the Use button rather than when initially pressing it.

• This should help with the issue of accidentally swapping.

• If a player is eliminated by fall damage while inside a vehicle, the player that last damaged that vehicle will receive the credit for that elimination.

• Re-enabled hit markers to be server-side authoritative instead of client-side.

• This will help prevent instances where players see hit markers but no damage.

• Players that were Rebooted into Rifts were teleporting into the sky but would not enter skydiving mode.

• Vehicles weren’t getting impulsed away from the Reboot Van.

• Collision for the Reboot Van was not affecting some vehicles, allowing them to hide inside of the Reboot Van.

• The yellow “invulnerability” effect wasn’t appearing on players who were revived by the Reboot Van.

• The Reboot Card was still playing its spawn sound even if the player disconnected.

• Dropping inventory items while in vehicles with weapons is now blocked to prevent various camera issues.

• Traps were occasionally being placed in the middle of a tile rather than against a wall when using Builder Pro.

• When exiting vehicles, the equip animation will now always play before weapons can be fired.

• This will prevent the issue where players would occasionally see themselves fire right after exiting a vehicle before the server had time to register the shot.

• The elimination feed text will no longer display the “eliminated by ally” message if an ally interrupts a player reboot animation.

• Fall damage was being taken when using a Jetpack (in supported Limited Time Modes) after being launched from the Pirate Cannon.

• Players were not able to negate fall damage using a Flintlock Pistol while crouching.

• Players couldn’t see the nameplates of party member’s Reboot Cards in the UI.

• Players would not drop a Reboot Card if they were eliminated after confirming a Reboot but before their teammate actually spawned.

• We’ve resolved an issue that was preventing the correct amount of Survival XP from being granted after games and have gifted XP to players as compensation.

• You’ll receive this compensation via the Gifting system.

• Resolved a cause of significant hitching during skydiving. and during late game combat.

ART + ANIMATION

We’ve added a unique animation for petting the dog and other Pets.

AUDIO

• Added Sound Visualizer without Spatialization (panning) of sounds in-game.

• By introducing this mode, if you are a hearing-impaired player, then you will now be able to play the game with audio and the visualizer turned on simultaneously!

• Various gameplay sounds (gunshots, walking, reloading) will no longer retrigger at incorrect/random times.

• This was causing “ghost” sounds to be heard when nothing was causing the actual sound effect.

• Fixed an issue that would cause certain things to not have looping audio when they should.

• When healing with foraged Banana or Apples, the full visual effects weren’t playing when viewed in replays.

MOBILE

• The reactive effects were not working properly for the Marshmello Outfit.

• MSAA anti-aliasing enabled on P30 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20X.

• The interact button now has context-sensitive icons.

• You can now move while the map is open by providing input on the left side of the screen.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

• Made improvements to stability and to resolve some crashes.

• Made performance improvements on the iPad Mini 4 and Air 2.

• The movement joystick wasn’t appearing on the HUD for certain devices.

• Push notifications were not being sent after updates finished downloading.

• Blocked players on player’s friend lists were not appearing as ‘Blocked’.

• The fire button and right fire-stick would not function after anchoring the Baller grapple with tap to fire.

• The right fire-stick was not allowing camera movement while in the Baller.

• The Baller grapple was not releasing on the first tap.

• Players could get stuck in an infinite fire loop after exiting the Baller while it was anchored with the grapple.

• Double tapping was required to detach the Baller’s grapple when using tap to fire.

• There were visual issues on the Back Button in the menus.

• Voice Chat icons from players set to “sit out” were not appearing.

• Ammo boxes weren’t opening.

• The Confirm and Cancel buttons in Squad Management were difficult to touch/interact with.

• The Option menus were closing the unapplied changes was closing the entire menu instead of just the popup prompt.

• Menu icons could be removed from the HUD Layout Tool.

• Vehicle boost icons were appearing different between viewing them in a match vs in the HUD Layout Tool screen.

• The Score Tracking widget can now be removed from the Mobile HUD

• Score Tracking widget can now be removed from Mobile HUD

• It was difficult to see character and weapon animations while using the Boom Bow.

• The Map widget was setting its anchors inappropriately when moved in the HUD layout tool, making some attached game mode UI push the Map widget off the screen.

• You may need to reset the Map widget in the HUD Layout Tool to resolve this issue.
