Prince William reportedly 'blames Meghan' for brother Prince Harry's 'overboard' parenting - AOL

Are Meghan and Harry going "overboard" with their efforts to maintain a bit of privacy around their newborn son?

According to one royal insider, that's what Prince William and Kate Middleton think. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex raised eyebrows in Britain when they announced that the christening of their son, Archie, would be a private affair and that they'd be keeping the identities of his godparents private, both of which were a departure from how Will and Kate went about things with their three children.

While "the Queen accepted Harry and Meghan's decision to keep the event private" and cap the guest list to an intimate 25 or so guests, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge "weren't happy about it," an insider told Us Weekly.

Their decision to keep details under wraps around Archie's christening isn't the first time that Meghan and Harry have strayed from royal routine. While Duchess Kate famously debuted all three of her babies on the steps of the Lindo Wing just hours after giving birth, Meghan and Harry announced ahead of their son's arrival that they would wait to debut their newborn on their own time. (They ended up waiting nearly 48 hours before holding a controlled photo-call inside Windsor Castle back in May.)

Though sources say that the new parents are looking to instill privacy in an effort to give him a "normal family environment," as far as his older brother is concerned, Harry and Meghan's efforts to maintain such privacy around their son, despite being high-profile members of the royal family, have gotten out of hand.

"William thinks his brother is going overboard keeping Archie out of the spotlight," the Us Weekly insider said, adding that the future king reportedly "blames Meghan" for the trend.

While their different approach to parenting in the face of public scrutiny may not be William's cup of tea -- or constant Meghan critic Piers Morgan's, for that matter -- disagreement from the rest of their family isn't going to stop Meghan and Harry from doing things their own way.

"This is not a couple that will conform if they don't feel it's right for them," a People insider explained. "It's that simple."

Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Seeking Prince William and Kate Middleton's Advice for Their Africa Trip - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their son, Archie Harrison, back in May and the couple just recently shared with the world an exciting news: they will be taking their child abroad for the first time.

Traveling with a little one can be very challenging, but fortunately for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they have the more experienced Prince William and Kate Middleton who can help.

In fact, despite the alleged feud between the two sides, it looks like the Sussexes are seeking valuable advice from the Cambridges. Read on below to learn more about what the two couples reportedly discussed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will go on a royal tour in Africa

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced on their Instagram page that in October the family will come to Southern Africa on a two-week royal tour. They will visit South Africa, Malawi, and Angola as well as make a quick trip to Botswana.

“The Duke and Duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond,” the post said.

Prince Harry has done a lot of work in this African region. Most famously, he helped found the organization Sentebale to help children in Lesotho, Malawi, and Botswana who have been affected by AIDS.

This will not be Meghan Markle’s first overseas tour; she notably went to Morocco with Prince Harry earlier this year. However, this will be the first time that the couple are taking Archie Harrison abroad and he will not even be a year old yet.

Prince William and Kate Middleton once toured Australia with Prince George

There’s no doubt that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a lot on their mind about taking their newborn son abroad. However, perhaps it is comforting to have Prince William and Kate Middleton around for guidance.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went on a 19-day tour to Australia in 2014 when their son George was less than a year old. Although it was a serious visit, royal followers had a lot of fun seeing photographs of Prince George doing things such as meeting a bilby and receiving a giant plush wombat from Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove.

What can Prince Harry and Meghan Markle learn from the Cambridges?

A source told Us Weekly that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing as much as possible to keep baby Archie safe and happy. For example, drawing from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s experience, the Sussexes will likely “establish a base they can commute from, rather than spend the nights in lots of different countries.”

And while many fans are excited about seeing photos of Archie, the insider shared that the public should not expect to see too many. “Archie’s going with his parents because they don’t want to leave him behind in the U.K., not because they want to show him off at every stop.”

Since Archie is very young and still need a lot of vaccinations, there are reasons to believe that the couple will not take him everywhere. The source said that “it’s likely that Archie will only be present on certain safer parts of the trip, such as South Africa, leaving Harry and Meghan to travel by themselves to engagements in other countries.”

In order to have someone take care of Archie while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are working, it’s possible that the couple will also bring a nanny along. They recently hired a nanny who reportedly quit after two weeks, so they will have to look for another person to take with them to Africa in the fall.

'Willy Wonka' actress Denise Nickerson taken off life support 1 year after stroke - Fox News

"Willy Wonka" actress Denise Nickerson has been taken off life support one year after suffering a stroke.

Her son Josh, and his wife, Jasmine, announced the news via Facebook on Wednesday. "They just took off all the equipment. None of it was helping, but making her only more uncomfortable. We're telling her it's okay to let go."

Nickerson's family also told TMZ that the 62-year-old has been taken off a respirator and she is no longer receiving medication.

Nickerson is best known for her role as Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder.

According to her son and daughter-in-law, Nickerson suffered a "major medical emergency" at home on Monday and was admitted to the ICU.

According to an update on the family's GoFundMe page, Nickerson, "got into her medicines and took as much as she could" while Josh and Jasmine were away at a doctor's appointment. Josh reportedly stopped her and brought her to the ER, where her condition got worse.

"She’s had seizures this morning and is in pulmonary and respiratory distress. The doctors have found that she aspirated and has developed pneumonia,” Jasmine shared on Facebook. "They have upped her oxygen. She’s under a DNR order so they aren’t putting her on a ventilator or feeding tube."

Jasmine later wrote on Tuesday that Nickerson's condition worsened and she was unable to breathe on her own, saying the former actress was in a "coma-like state." Jasmine also asked for prayers for her husband, who has "never really experienced a major loss like this."

GENE WILDER WANTED TO BE REMEMBERED MORE FOR 'YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN' THAN 'WILLY WONKA,' AUTHOR CLAIMS

"He is just coming to terms with the reality of the situation and doesn’t know how to process it. He says to me a few minutes ago that she won’t ever get to see or hold or know her granddaughter."

Nickerson was previously admitted to the hospital in June 2018 after having a stroke.

In “Willy Wonka” Nickerson played one of the spoiled children who wins a tour of the chocolate factory. An avid gum-chewer, she steals an experimental piece from Wonka’s factory that leads to her blowing up like a giant blueberry. Her career also saw her appear in roles on “The Brady Bunch,” "Dark Shadows” and “The Electric Company.”

She later became a nurse.

Prince William Reportedly Thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are “Going Overboard” With Archie’s Privacy - Cosmopolitan.com

BRITAIN-ROYALS

TOBY MELVILLEGetty Images

  • Prince William reportedly thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being too private with baby Archie.
  • Meghan and Harry just held a private christening for their newborn son, which is unlike the public ones William and Kate Middleton had for their children.

You may have thought all the drama surrounding baby Archie’s christening was over, but of course it’s not! This time, the rumors don’t involve Kate Middleton’s earrings or the face Prince William made in the official christening photo but William’s apparent disapproval of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s parenting. Which, yikes.

Over the weekend, Harry and Meghan held a super-private christening for Archie. As you already know, Harry and Meghan prefer to keep their personal lives private, and Meghan didn’t even step out in public right after she gave birth, like Kate always did.

The royal christenings are typically done in public and there are usually a bunch of photos, but the queen let Megs and Harry do their own thing. That said, William and Kate “weren’t happy about it,” at least according to some Us Weekly sources.

The source added, “William thinks his brother is going overboard keeping Archie out of the spotlight.” Also, they said that William “blames Meghan.” Um, if this is true, maybe the Cambridges should get a new hobby and let the Sussexes parent the way they want to? Just a thought.

But something else that’s super important to note is that William and Harry are doing as the royals do and are at a polo match this morning, along with Kate Middleton and Prince Louis. Oh, and Meghan is also there...HOLDING ARCHIE...IN PUBLIC!

So either Meghan and Harry heard about William and Kate’s rumored beef with their parenting style or this was never an issue to begin with. Interesting stuff.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Accused Of Feigning Intimacy In New Family Photos With Baby Archie - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry offered a small glimpse into baby Archie’s christening over the weekend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared two photos from the religious ceremony on social media, including a family portrait and a black and white pic of the couple holding their baby. The new parents appeared more than happy in both images, but royal watchers were not convinced their intimacy was real.

    Inside Archie’s christening

Archie’s christening was held in a private chapel inside Windsor Chapel, far from the prying eyes of the media. Several important royals attended the affair, including Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not in attendance due to previous engagements. The decision to keep the christening private sparked a good share of outrage from fans and the backlash continued following the social media posts.

The first photo the couple shared was very similar in tone to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement shots. The pic featured a slew of royals surrounding the couple, both of whom are seated with Archie.

The second image is a black and white pic of Harry gazing lovingly at Archie while Markle looks on. The photo is much more intimate than the first, though body language experts believe the ceremony was a lot more stressful than it looked.

Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feign intimacy?

According to Express, body language expert Judi James has examined the photos and thinks the black and white image was staged. James noted that the pic has a very Hollywood feel to it and was meant to show a moment of bliss. But for James, the photo loses some of its intimate quality because it was deliberately staged. It also explains why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to make the christening a private affair.

“It looks deliberately intimate rather than a pose to camera to share the joy and the way we are invited to glimpse the loving moment rather than participate goes some way to endorse their request for a private event,” James shared.

A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) on

As far as the family portrait goes, James says that it follows all the usual guidelines of the royal family. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are shown beaming at the front of the group, while the rest of the family surrounds them in a show of support.

That said, Middleton and William appear a little tense in the photo and not their usual carefree selves. Charles, on the other hand, looks about as happier as we have ever seen him, and his hand resting on Harry’s chair indicates that he is proud of his son.

Archie’s christening does not stray from tradition

Although fans expected Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to do their own thing when it came to Archie’s ceremony, the photos they shared were very similar to the ones William and Middleton took for Prince Louis’s christening last year. Although the venues are different and the Cambridge’s guest list was larger, the photos are nearly identical. In both pictures, the couple celebrating the christening is seated in front of the group. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip also did not make it to Louis’s christening and were therefore excluded from the photo.

William and Middleton’s group shot also featured members of both families. Charles and Parker Bowles were in the pic, as well as Middleton’s mom and dad, Carole and Michael Middleton. Her sister, Pippa Middleton, and brother, James Middleton, were also included in the photo.

The only member of Markle’s family that was included in the image was her mother. The rest of her family has created a lot of drama for the royals and it is completely understandable that they were left out of the shot.

Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reveal Archie’s godparents?

Along with the photos, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that Archie’s godparents are featured in the group image. The couple did not reveal who are the godparents, but the photo definitely narrows down the list of potential relatives.

Apart from Charles, Parker Bowles, William, Middleton, and Ragland, the photo includes Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Lady Jane Fellowes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not commented on the rumors surrounding Archie’s christening. The royal family released a statement following the ceremony, thanking fans for their continued support for the new parents.
