Selena Gomez Surprises Fans With 'Rare' Music Video Hours After Album Release - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

After four long years, Selena Gomez has finally released her new album, Rare. Gomez has admitted that this record is her most personal and vulnerable album to date. She has also shared that she originally planned on releasing the album two years ago. However, huge life events kept occurring which took her in a completely different direction musically. But, as of January 10, 2020, Rare is out in the world. It was always going to be a great day for Selenators (Gomez’s loyal fans), but she had yet another surprise in store for them.

Minutes before Rare released on the east coast, Gomez took to her Instagram stories to share some personal moments with her millions of fans. The artist revealed that she was at her listening party celebrating the album’s release with friends. Though there was plenty of food involved, the 27-year-old confessed that nerves had prevented her from eating all day. She also shared that she would be answering questions about the album and that fans could watch along if they were interested.

Following the release, Gomez posted a picture of herself with a physical copy of her album. “HERE IT IS!!! My album is officially out in the universe.. thank you for the souls that worked on this with me. Now it’s yours. Hope you like it. 🌈🌸💐 #Rare,” she captioned the photograph. Gomez then went live on Instagram and gave fans a brief sample of the thirteen songs which serve as a diary for the last several years of her life.

Of course, many of Gomez’s fans have already listened to Rare and couldn’t wait to tell the “Look At Her Now” singer how much they loved the new album. “Are u kidding me???? I just listened to it and omggggg there’s no bad song. Many emotions. I’ve waited for so long and it’s finally here. I’m so proud of you. I love u,” one person wrote to the actress on Instagram. “You are amazing and I am looking forward to witnessing your greatness this year my friend,” another person chimed in. “Feels so good to hear your voice again 😏💖 your album is so pure and rare. I truly love it,” one long-time fan gushed. “It’s spectacular, we love it so much, thank you Selena, love uuuu,” another Selenator shared.

But, the new album wasn’t all that Gomez had in store for her loyal fans. As an added surprise (and perhaps a thank you for their continued patience) Gomez also announced that she would be releasing the music video for her self-titled track, “Rare” only nine hours after her album released on the west coast.

“Surprise! The video for ‘Rare’ premieres tomorrow at 9 am PT,” the Wizards of Waverly Place alum tweeted out. Of course, fans were absolutely thrilled about the surprise music video, and were leaving comments hours before it even released. Gomez might have taken her time with her new album, but clearly, it was worth the wait. We’re sure Selenators can’t wait to see what else this new era brings for the singer.

Oprah Winfrey advised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about breaking free from the British royals and following their own path.

The TV queen — who attended the couple’s wedding and is also close to Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland — discussed their “declaration of independence” and encouraged them to consider making a living in North America by building their own powerful brand.

Harry and Meghan have trademarked “Sussex Royal” as a brand on more than 100 properties in the UK, including clothing, stationery, photographs and educational and charitable endeavors — with predicted revenue of over $500 million.

A source said, “Oprah was the first person to talk to Harry and Meghan about breaking free and doing their own thing, building on their own brand. She made them realize it was really possible.” A rep for Oprah declined to comment.

Harry collaborated with Oprah on a mental-health series for Apple TV+, to air later this year, and it is believed the pair had “frank conversations” about the turmoil he and Meghan have faced in the spotlight. In an astonishing interview, Harry revealed he thinks about the fate of his mother, Princess Diana, “every single time I see a camera … every time I see a flash.”

Harry is also close to Barack Obama, and insiders say the prince could follow a similar after-presidency career path, involving philanthropy, speeches, book deals and documentaries.

Page Six can also reveal that Oprah’s BFF Gayle King is set to score the first interview with the Sussexes post-Megxit. King attended Meg’s NYC baby shower and visited them after the birth of baby Archie. A TV source said: “It’s hush-hush, but there’s no one else they would turn to.”

'Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time:' Ken Jennings mimics 'all-in' gesture, James Holzhauer wins night 2 - KABC-TV

The second night of "Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time" tournament saw the contestants going 'all-in.'

James Holzhauer, a professional sports gambler, is known for making an 'all-in' hand gesture when he puts all his money on the line during Daily Doubles, as if he was pushing all his poker chips to the center of the table.

But rival Ken Jennings wanted to get in on the fun Wednesday night.

When he wagered everything on a Daily Double, host Alex Trebek quipped, "Do it."

Jennings mimicked Holzhauer's 'all-in' movement, while asking, "Has James copyrighted this?"

"One time use only. You're good," Holzhauer responded.

Fellow competitor Brad Rutter joined in the fun, giving Jennings a humorous warning.

"(James) now owns 10% of whatever you get," Rutter said.

While Jennings walked away the winner on night 1, it was 'Jeopardy James' who got the win on night 2.

"Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time" continues Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT | 7 p.m. CT on ABC.

If you've tuned in to the tournament of champions, you've probably noticed how much fun Alex has been having. It's been a trying 10 months for Trebek, who's battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but he tells us he's really enjoying this special competition.

Alex says he's still hanging in there in his fight against cancer ... he has his good days and bad, but it seems this reunion of sorts is really lifting his spirits. Really puts a smile on your face.

The Sad Way Prince Harry and Prince William's Rift Is Impacting Their Children - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Prince William and Prince Harry have had a difficult year. After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out and established their own household, separate from that of Prince William and Kate Middleton, numerous reports claimed that the brothers were at odds and are now not nearly as close as they used to be.

This is compounded by the fact that they are rarely seen together when they used to be inseparable. Still, a new report reveals that Duchess Kate definitely wants the two to start patching things up, if only for the sake of the children.

How did the royal rift start?

When Duchess Meghan joined the royal family in early 2018, rumors immediately started regarding the nature of her relationship with Duchess Kate. While many assumed that the two women didn’t get along, it seems as though the real story was the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry.

Royal sources claimed that the brothers were each on their own paths in life and that they had little in common anymore. A few months after Markle and Prince Harry got married, they announced that they would be separating households from Prince William and Duchess Kate, and re-established themselves in a quieter, more remote area of England.

After welcoming their son, Archie Harrison, in May 2019, they became even more reclusive. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept their son’s baptism a private affair and allowing only a few photos of the baby to be released. 

How many kids do Prince William and Kate Middleton have?

Prince William and Duchess Kate are no strangers to balancing the press with the hard work of parenthood. They have three children in total: Prince George, born in July 2013, Princess Charlotte, born in May 2015, and their youngest child, Prince Louis, born in April 2018.

While rumors persist that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could be planning for a fourth child, they have not yet announced anything.

Since the birth of Archie Harrison this past May, he has only been spotted on one or two playdates with Duchess Kate and Prince William’s children. Although some sources have insisted that Markle turned to Middleton for parenting advice after the birth of her son, sadly, the royal cousins do not seem to spend a great deal of time together.

Do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want more children?

Whether or not Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan eventually have another baby remains to be seen. On one hand, Prince Harry spoke out in 2019, stating that they want “no more than two” children due to the potential for negative effects on the environment.

Still, the two are known to love kids and it is very possible that they want to give Archie Harrison a sibling. Some sources have speculated that they will probably announce a pregnancy in 2021, in order to allow for a bit of a gap in between children.

This would likely be a healthier thing to do. Although since Duchess Meghan is past 35, and is considered to be of advanced maternal age, the possibility of complications become greater the longer they wait. 

Kate Middleton is hoping the brothers reconnect

No matter how many children the royal couples end up welcoming, it seems as though Duchess Kate might have finally had enough of the rift. In a recent report, sources close to the royal family claim that Middleton has one major hope for 2020: that the royal cousins get to spend more time together.

The source noted that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan chose to spend the holiday season separately from the royal family, heading to Canada for a retreat from the spotlight. It is certainly possible that Prince Harry and Markle decide to change up their mindset in the new year and spend a great deal more time around Middleton, Prince William, and their kids.

Still, they have proven to be a bit unpredictable in the past, so only time will tell.
