'The Bachelor': Australia's Bugs Ruined Madison Prewett's 'Surrender' - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Bachelor Nation is one step closer to finding out who Peter Weber will choose to spend the rest of his life with. During part one of The Bachelor finale, Weber’s final girls got to meet his parents, Barbara and Peter Sr., as well as his baby brother Jack.

After a difficult meeting with Weber’s family, Madison Prewett had a difficult conversation with Weber. But as Prewett was doing so, the Australian outback seemed to have other plans.

[Spoiler alert: This post contains spoilers for Part One of The Bachelor season finale.]

Peter’s family had their minds made up

Weber’s parents first met Prewett when he brought her to their vow renewal. It was early on in the competition, but the Webers seemed to think Prewett was a good match for their son. When Barbara and Peter Sr. learned of Prewett’s ultimatum, their feelings began to change.

Before Prewett even arrived at their Australian villa, Weber’s parents had their minds made up — Hannah Ann Sluss was the woman for Weber, as far as they were concerned. It’s hard enough to be the second girl visiting with the bachelor’s parents, but even harder for Prewett because Weber’s parents mistook her “sharing her heart” as an ultimatum.

Madi breaks up with Peter

Prewett’s final date with Weber took place after her awkward family encounter. The couple took a helicopter over Uluru, but not even a sacred rock could protect Weber from what was coming next. Prewett expressed over and over again how she loved Weber, but she could also clearly see how different they were from each other. That’s when she decided to “surrender.”

After their helicopter flight, Weber poured some sparkling apple juice for Prewett, further demonstrating their differences in lifestyle. Weber’s mom made it clear to Prewett that Weber liked to drink, liked to party, liked to socialize. It was at this point Prewett questioned whether or not love could conquer all.

“As much as we want this, I don’t know that we can give each other what we need,” Prewett said. Considering Barbara’s wishes, Prewett told Weber she didn’t want him to change for her. In letting him go, Prewett hoped Weber would be able to find his soul mate.

The Australian outback distracts Bachelor Nation

As Prewett was breaking Weber’s heart, the Australian outback seemed to be rebelling against their separation. Throughout Prewett’s entire breakup monologue, she and Weber swatted away pesky bugs.

“I just got more of a sight into life outside of this,” Prewett explained as a small fly landed on her face. Distracted, she swatted the bug away and continued: “I wouldn’t want you to feel like you have to change any of that for someone that you want to be with (swat) and I wouldn’t wanna feel like I have to change any of that for someone I want to be with (swat).”

At this point, Weber was rendered speechless and could only sway his head back and forth between his shoulders to prevent bugs from landing on him. When he finally found the words to explain to Prewett that he was “willing to do whatever it took” to be with her, the bugs were back with a vengeance.

Weber’s arm flew distractingly so amidst his intense and emotional conversation with Prewett, and Bachelor Nation had a hard time ignoring it.

One fan on Twitter called the producers of the show “the real winners” for “setting the couples up in the middle of the Australian outback to have serious discussions in that red clay with all the bugs.”

Did The Bachelor producers do this on purpose, or was it an honest mistake? That’s neither here nor there — what’s important is part two of The Bachelor finale tonight. Will Prewett return to fight for love, will Weber settle for Sluss, or will something completely unexpected happen? Tune in to The Bachelor tonight on ABC.

Led Zeppelin wins 'Stairway to Heaven' copyright infringement case - Fox News

Led Zeppelin scored a win in the copyright infringement battle over the rock band's "Stairway to Heaven" song, according to reports.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld on Monday a jury's verdict that Zeppelin did not rip the instrumental intro from Spirit's hit "Taurus."

The legal battle began back in 2014, when Michael Skidmore, an heir for Spirit frontman Randy Wolfe, sued the British rockers for infringement.

"Taurus" was written in 1968, three years before "Stairway To Heaven." A 2016 jury ruled that Zeppelin did not copy it. However, a judge ruled there were errors in the case and a new trial was ordered.

Zeppelin's attorneys then appealed to the full circuit and the case was heard last September. A panel of 11 judges voted 9-2 in Zeppelin's favor on Monday.

Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page, who wrote the song, could have faced a bill for millions of dollars in damages if they had lost.

Attorney Ed McPherson who filed a brief in support of Led Zeppelin said he has "renewed faith" in the 9th Circuit since the "terrific decision" was made, according to Variety.

Lawyers for Zeppelin and Skidmore did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

“The levels of risk to our audience and their communities is simply too high for our comfort level," a band statement said. “Add to that we also have a unique group of passionate fans who travel far and wide. We’ve always been humbled by this and respect their energies and devotion. However in this case, travel is something to avoid."

New dates will be determined and current tickets will be honored for those dates, the band said.

Band members said they were personally being affected by the COVID-19 health fears. The band is from Washington state, where two dozen people have died, most of them at a Seattle-area nursing home.

“As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate," the band said. “Our kids’ schools have closed along with universities and businesses. It’s been brutal.”

Band members also criticized a lack of clarity from the government when it comes to staying safe and going to work, saying they didn't believe the virus would be controlled in the coming weeks.

“The tour we’ve been busy planning for months is now in jeopardy," the band said. "We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters as top priority."

Max von Sydow, star of films from 'The Seventh Seal' to 'The Exorcist,' dead at 90 - CNN

Von Sydow passed away on Sunday, according to representatives at Diamond Management, which said "it is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain of announcing the departure of Max."
He was a well-known figure in both European and American cinema, starring in films from Bergman's masterpiece "The Seventh Seal" to international blockbusters such as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Born on April 10, 1929 in Lund, Sweden, von Sydow attended the acting school at Stockholm's Royal Dramatic Theatre before working in theaters in Norrköping and Malmö.
His star started to rise internationally after working with Bergman on a number of movies, with "The Seventh Seal" (1957) proving a particular catalyst.
This led to roles abroad, including Jesus in "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965) and Father Lankester Merrin in "The Exorcist" (1973).
He was nominated for Oscars for "Pelle the Conqueror" in 1988 and for "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" in 2012.
At almost 2 meters tall, with a slim build and a distinctive, gaunt face, von Sydow was a striking on-screen presence.
Industry figures including Edgar Wright, writer and director of movies such as "Baby Driver" and "Shaun of the Dead," were effusive in their tributes to the actor.
"Max Von Sydow, such an iconic presence in cinema for seven decades, it seemed like he'd always be with us," wrote Wright on Twitter.
"He changed the face of international film with Bergman, played Christ, fought the devil, pressed the HOT HAIL button & was Oscar nominated for a silent performance. A god."
Producer Jonathan Sothcott also paid homage on Twitter.
"RIP #MaxvonSydow a brilliant, brilliant actor and a true Hollywood legend," he wrote.
"We have lost one of the true greats."

Harry & Meghan Reunite With William & Kate for Final Royal Engagement - E! NEWS

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reunited with Prince William and Kate Middleton for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday.

They weren't the only members of the royal family in attendance. Queen Elizabeth IIPrince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were all there, as well.

Neither the Duke and Duchess of Sussex nor the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in Her Majesty's official procession. While both couples walked with The Queen last year, they were escorted to their seats separately this time around. Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have not commented on why the changes were made.

Meghan dazzled in a green Emilia Wickstead ensemble and William Chambers hat while Kate stunned in a red coatdress. William and Kate sat one row ahead of Meghan and Harry. Brief greetings were exchanged.

It had been a while since the "fab four" were seen together. In fact, the last time they were photographed at the same event was in November 2019 for a Remembrance Day event.

This marked Harry and Meghan's last official royal engagement. It also marked the first time they've been pictured with William and Kate since their bombshell announcement. Back in January, the Sussexes declared their intent to step back as "senior" members of the royal family. They also shared their plans to become financially independent and to split their time between the U.K. and North America.

After Harry met with The Queen and the Royal Households, an agreement was reached. It was determined that Harry and Meghan must step back from their royal duties, including military appointments, and that they will no longer receive public funds for such duties. It was also established that the couple may no longer formally represent Her Majesty. Although, The Queen made it clear that Harry, Meghan and Archie "will always be much loved members of my family."

While Harry and Meghan will keep their "HRH" titles, they will no longer actively use them. They will also retain their titles of Earl and Countess of Dumbarton and Baron and Baroness of Kilkeel. In addition, Harry will retain the ranks of Major, Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader.

Furthermore, they will keep their private patronages and associations.

Harry and Meghan will begin this next chapter starting March 31.

Before the announcement, there were rumors of tension between Harry and William and Meghan and Kate. Harry addressed reports of a rift with William in the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.

"Inevitably stuff happens," he said. "But we're brothers, we'll always be brothers. We're certainly on different paths at the moment. I'll always be there for him and as I know, he'll always be there for me. We don't see each other as much as we used to because we're so busy but I love him dearly."

He also said that "the majority of stuff is created out of nothing."

"As brothers, we have good days and we have bad days," he added.

Max Von Sydow: Actor dies aged 90 - BBC News

Actor Max Von Sydow, who appeared in films and TV series including The Exorcist, Flash Gordon and Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 90.

His family announced "with a broken heart and infinite sadness" that the Swedish-born actor died on Sunday.

Von Sydow's other film credits included Hannah and Her Sisters, The Seventh Seal and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

He was nominated for two Oscars during his career - including best actor in 1998 for Pelle the Conqueror.

His other Academy nomination was best supporting actor for his role in 2011's Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.

He was nominated for an Emmy in 1990 for his role in the HBO thriller Red King, White Knight.

Von Sydow had a fruitful run of 11 films with Ingmar Bergman, including The Seventh Seal, in which he famously played chess with Death.

The actor also played Ming the Merciless in 1980's Flash Gordon and appeared in Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island and Steven Spielberg's Minority Report.

In 1983, Von Sydow played the sinister James Bond villain Ernst Blofeld in Never Say Never Again.

He was often typecast in Hollywood as the sophisticated villain, which the Associated Press said was down to him being "tall and lanky, with sullen blue eyes, a narrow face, pale complexion and a deep and accented speaking voice".

But, he once said in an interview: "What I as an actor look for is a variety of parts. It is very boring to be stuck in more or less one type of character."

Von Sydow continued acting late in life, voicing a character in The Simpsons in 2014, appearing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and in three episodes of Game of Thrones in 2016, for which he earned a second Emmy nomination.

Director Edgar Wright led the tributes on Twitter, writing: "Max Von Sydow, such an iconic presence in cinema for seven decades, it seemed like he'd always be with us.

"He changed the face of international film with Bergman, played Christ, fought the devil, pressed the HOT HAIL button and was Oscar nominated for a silent performance. A god."

Film critic Guy Lodge said Von Sydow was "an actor who could bring great gravity to weightless junk, and quick, unpredictable humanity to, well, very grave films".

Von Sydow has four sons - two with his first wife Christina Inga Britta Olin. In 1997, he married Catherine Brelet in Provence and became a citizen of France five years later, meaning he had to relinquish his Swedish citizenship.
